As a community, residents of Newton value our environment – globally…and locally.

As an Alderman, I continue to support all efforts to make our city a greener, healthier, and more environmentally conscious community.

Newton continues to lead the way with initiatives that demonstrate care and compassion for the earth and the environment which we all share. From the “Stretch Code” which provides a framework for environmentally friendly construction, to community groups such as Green Decade and others, to basic recycling efforts, Newton residents are committed to care for our environment every day of the year.

I support the purchase and use of energy-efficient city vehicles, the careful expansion of bike paths, convenient bike racks, walking trails, and safe sidewalks to encourage non-motorized transportation, and increased education for our younger citizens to learn the importance of environmentally sounds policies.
